The Autobiography of Nicolae Ceaușescu
FILM, DOCUMENTARY, BIOGRAPHY

ABOUT
The film explores the image of the Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu using 1,000 hours of unknown official footage from the National Film Archive and Romanian Television and covers 25 years of Nicolae Ceaușescu’s life, from his installation in power in 1965 until his fall in 1989.

Lacking voice-over or comments from off, Nicolae Ceaușescu’s Autobiography is an essay about the grandeur and absurdity of power, which demonstrates that propaganda images contain in themselves their own contradiction.
